It’s Elise’s birthday! We started the day by going into town and getting pastries and coffee. We enjoyed them sitting on the lake.

We then dropped into a bike shop to see if they could clean our drivetrains. The chain lube I bought in Invercargill turned out to be very sticky, meaning that all the dirt was sticking to the chains, causing large amounts of wear and poor shifting.

We then went to Icebreaker, a maker of wool-based outdoor layers. We have been heavily relying on wool layers, so it was time to stock up on more…and socks!

We then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Wanaka and relaxing.
